Hi everyone!
As a child I had problems finding friends. I liked to get my own way and it still is. When I started growing up there were other problems. Nobody understands me. I escaped to the world of fiction (and he's still on the run). I had a communication problem. When the depression started, the heroes of the book helped me.
Then maybe let's start from the beginning!
Basic information from "Wikipedia":
Percy Jackson & the Olympians, often shortened to Percy Jackson or PJO, is a pentalogy of fantasy adventure novels written by American author Rick Riordan, and the first book series in the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles. Five supplementary books, along with graphic novel versions of each book in the first series have also been released. More than 69 million copies of the books have been sold in more than 35 countries.
As of October 28, 2011, the books have been on The New York Times Best Seller list for children's book series for 245 weeks. The first book was adapted into a film titled Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief in 2010, which was commercially successful, but due to major deviations from the books received mixed reviews from fans around the world. An adaptation of the second book, titled Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, was released in 2013.
A TV series adaptation is currently in the works for Disney+, but as of January 2021, no release date has been announced.
Why is important to me?
I have always loved Greek mythology. The opportunity to read an adventure novel about a modern hero was incredible. Fighting depression, I wanted to be like him. I wanted to feel special. I wanted to be a child of the Greek god. The whole story was about the fight between good and evil, but their private problems reflected my problems.
The beginning of an amazing friendship!
After reading the entire series, I wanted more and more. I began to imagine that all the characters are real. That they live together behind me. That I am one of them. They helped me survive when it was really bad. Over time, I started to connect stories. More and more fictional characters began to surround me. I was starting to lose touch with reality.
Now they're just a memory. Their place was replaced by other heroes. The ones I made myself. To this day I live fiction. Conversations with the heroes of the novels help me solve problems and give me good advice.
Next time I will tell you about THESE heroes!
I'M NOT NORMAL. I LIVE IN FICTION AND I CAN'T ESCAPE FROM IT!
See you soon my dreames
Weronika...
